Great Ways to Travel and Volunteer

Travel is basically the moving of humans from one point to another, between different geographical locations. Travel can be one way, usually involving transportation of both passengers and luggage, and may be one way or roundtrip, depending on the route. In the United States, there are many different modes of travel:

Business travel. This is where people travel to a different location for the purpose of doing business. Examples include CEO’s traveling from conference to conference, or salesmen traveling from location to close a deal. Most long term slow travel for business will involve business executives. Other types of travelers that regularly make this type of travel are contractors, consultants, and artists.

Short term accommodation. This is travel for vacation purposes that does not require a return trip. Typical vacationers include students who are taking a gap year between semesters, couples who are going on a honeymoon, or families who are going on an extended vacation. There are also travel agencies that cater to specific kinds of vacationers, such as couples looking for a family oriented destination or single men and women looking for short term accommodations. The different types of travelers that typically use short term accommodations are college students, business executives, couples, families, retirees, and others. Traveling for vacationers typically requires accommodations in a hotel, rental car, or bed and breakfast.

Hospitality exchange services. Traveling between countries is a great way to experience the culture, language, cuisine, and time. This is especially helpful if you are a non-native English speaker or if you are traveling to a foreign country where the language and culture are different than your own. A hospitality exchange program, also called an olimpia exchange, is a great way to experience these aspects of a new country while you are still in it. You can exchange business cards, visit historical sites, and even take part in cultural events.

Gap year travel. A gap year is a six-month period that a young adult, usually still in high school or college, spends working on an internship in a chosen country. Students will often spend their gap year traveling around the world. They will often live and work in a host country, but they will sometimes travel to another one on their own. It’s a great way to travel while experiencing another culture.

Package holidays. A group tour, also known as a travel and volunteer holiday, is a great way to travel around and volunteer in a particular area at a great value. You can find a variety of group tour packages that cater to various interests and travel preferences. These are particularly popular among young adults who want to travel abroad but who don’t have the money or the time to put a lot of effort into a trip of this type.
